General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has declared his stance in a matter relating to George Boateng who is poised to contest President John Dramani Mahama in the party’s upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary primaries.
According to the NDC Chief Scribe, the continuous discussion of a “lunatic” as he described his Oyarifa polling station youth organizer, will amount to a waste of precious and productive time.
In an interview with Kwame Nkrumah Tikese on Okay FM’s “Ade Akye Abia” Morning Show, General Mosquito as he is affectionately called in politics, sarcastically pleaded with the host to use his airtime to play music if he has nothing meaningful to discuss on air.
He commensurate that all the interviews George Boateng has granted and the kinds of responses which have emanated from them have shown that the various radio stations and newspapers have been dealing with a “lunatic”.
He wondered why the media is wasting time to show interest to discuss trivial issues like denying George Boateng from picking NDC presidential forms to contest President Mahama in the party’s November 7, 2015, Presidential and Parliamentary primaries.
He emphasized that the procedure Mahama’s contender wants to use to buy the presidential forms is abnormal coupled with the way he has responded to questions thrown at him in interviews; insisting that it is prudent to play music with the airtime to entertain listeners.
“I will plead with you that if you have nothing to do with your airtime, play music for us. All the interviews you have granted to him have shown that you are dealing with a lunatic, and I don’t understand why you are still interested in wasting time to discuss him…I have not made my mind to argue out with a madman because observers will not be able to differentiate us; so if you have made your mind to continue with this, I will suggest to you to use the airtime to play music for your listeners…if you have nothing again, let’s end the conversation here,” he chided.
He further advised that “the newspapers writing about such things can also use the space to do free advert for a company of their choice; for me, I have no time to talk about him”.
