The Minister of Food and Agriculture in charge of Livestock who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Tano South in the Bechem District of the Brong Ahafo Region, Hon Dr. Hannah Louisa Bissiw has donated some relief items worth Gh c 10,000 to some residents in Old Bronsankro, a farming community in the district.
The items were given to the farmers and residents who were rendered homeless due to heavy downpour last Friday.
Hon Dr. Louisa who spoke to the media when she visited the affected residents donated assorted items including 10 bags of rice, 15 packs of roofing sheets, 54 gallons of oil, 50 boxes of mosquito coils, 50 mats, 50 blankets, 4 boxes of mosquito coils, 50 mosquito nets, etc.
Hon Bisiw who was accompanied by some NADMO and party officials during the exercise disclosed that, the money was neither from the MPs Common Fund nor the coffers of the Assembly but from her own pocket and some philanthropists and promised them to offer more whenever there is the need for it. She said the relief items were to support and sustain lives as well as offer some relief for lost properties and belongings.
