Man, believe to be in his late twenties has been in the grip of Somanya Police Command for allegedly raping a young lady who is also believe to be in her early twenties around 1:30 am Tuesday.
The unfortunate incident happened at Yilo Krobo Senior High School (YIKROSEC) road, at Somanya in the Eastern Region.
According to the suspected rapist who was nearly leached by the irate youth of the area, the lady in question (name withheld), was his girl lover, use to call each other on phones, meet and do everything that lovers do, including sex .
On a contrary, the victim has denied ever knowing the suspected criminal saying yesterday (Monday) was the first time she has set her eyes on him after escorting a female friend of hers to her place.
She said that after escorting the female friend of hers, whom she taught could be his girlfriend, to the young man’s room they have left her in the suspected criminal’s room saying they were going to buy food.
According to her, the boy return without the other colleagues he moved out with into the room, where he forcefully had sex with her.
The police however, have put the suspected young man behind cells while medical examination form was issued to the victim for medical examination.
The police have assured will carry further investigations to enable it prosecute the case for court hearing.
