Mr. Shakespeare Dzokoto who is an agric consultant has revealed that, the chemicals used on crops to prevent pests and other diseases from attacking farm produced is very harmful to our health.
According to Mr. Shakespeare Dzokoto, ‘’this chemicals serves as a poison to the pests and other disease causing organism, and if not adequately used are harmful for human consumption.
Initially, our fore-fathers cultivate their produced, using the natural ways and are beneficial to their health without the use of any inorganic chemicals.
Mr. Shakespeare Dzokoto revealed that, the chemicals used, has made our water bodies very harmful for consumption, domestic and has also contributed in destroying other living organisms in lands and other aquatic habitat, and has also led to the distraction of the true nature of our lands.
He also added that, with the organic produced, it uses the natural method, which brings out the natural taste. “Some farmers even spray the crops with this harmful chemicals a day to the market day for sale which is very dangerous to our health.”
Mr. Dzokoto emphasized that farmers should cultivate the habit of using natural manure such as cow dung and others on their farms to replace of fertilizer.
