Premix Fuel Is Our Major Challenge

Chairman for the Canoe Owners Association in the Afram Plains in the Eastern region, Togbe Abufianu has told Rite news that the problem of premix fuel is their major challenge. He said the problem usually arises from the sale of the premix fuel to the townsfolk, who are not fishermen, a situation he said leads to the shortage of the fuel.

He said fisher folks who need the fuel more are denied it during moments of the shortage. Speaking to Togbe Abufianu, he intimated that at critical times, desperate fisherfolks embark on a home to home search of the fuel to buy and which comes at very expensive prices.

According to Togbe, they have appealed to the DCE of Asesewa, hon Angmor but nothing has been done which has resulted in them running into debt. He noted that those who buy and store the premix fuel are fishermen and do not have any sympathy towards others who may also need it, adding that their work is on the brink ofcollapse.

He has finally made a passionate plea to the honourable DCE to help them form a committee so that they the canoe owners can buy the premix fuel themselves. He said due to the scarcity of the premix fuel fishermen are not able to go for fishing.
