A Kumasi-based pastor is in police grips for alleged assaulting two people, including a church member.
The leader of God’s Kingdom Miracle Church at Oforikrom, Abraham Larbi, is accused of assaulting a female church member who demanded payment of 680 cedi loan from the pastor.
In the ensuing confusion the pastor allegedly threatened to kill his church member and another person who attempted to intervene for the lady.
Police personnel moved in to effect arrest after he refused to honor invitation on two occasions.
It took a team led by Chief Inspector, Abraham Cudjoe of the Oforikrom police station almost an hour to arrest pastor Larbie who locked himself up in the chapel on seeing the police.
Complainant, Precious Agyeman, told Nhyira News the pastor took the money from her in February to settle a debt and promised to pay back within days.
She noted the pastor assaulted her on two occasions and took away her Samsung mobile phone and also accused her of having an affair with his friend.
The distraught She said the pastor has threatened to kill her and her alleged lover.
“Whenever I go for my money he is reluctant to pay me. He has abused me twice for trying to take my money from him and just two days ago he threatened to kill me and his friend.”
Kwadwo Agyapong who is the pastor’s business partner and the alleged boy-friend said “The lady has been coming there often for her money but he refuses to pay her.
He abuses her with a stick; He has threatened to kill both of us because he believes we are having an affair.”
