His Royal Majesty, Oklepeme Nuer Anorbaah Sasraku II, King of the Yilo Klo State, has launched the Oklepeme Foundation as part of efforts to continue prioritizing its commitment to social development.

The Oklepeme Foundation’s primary aim will be to connect directly with the less privileged and offer sustainable support in the areas of Education, Health, Socio-Economic Development, Sports and Environment.

The launch which was performed by His Royal Majesty, Oklepeme Nuer Anorbaah Sasraku II, King of Yilo Klo State at the Somanya Community Center, attracted hundreds of well-wishers including students, the clergy, chiefs, government officials and members of the general public.

Aside the aim of the launch which was geared towards outdooring the initiative’s board of trustees, its management members and allow citizens of Yilo Klo both home and abroad to understand its mandate as well as the benefits of the people, the event was also used to raise funds to support its initial projects.

The Yilo Krobo King said while the government was doing its best, it nevertheless cannot do it all and therefore the need to come together with resources to support each other no matter how small.

“It has been my heart’s desire since becoming the Paramount Chief of Yilo Klo to ensure the education of our children of school going age without dropping out because of financial reasons; that our young boys and girls will complete Senior High School without dropping out because of teenage pregnancy and related issues; that basic health and education will be accessible to all no matter how rich or poor,” he asserted.

But that is not all as the Paramount Chief further enumerated other visions including youth entrepreneurship, women empowerment as well as general enlightenment of the people.

“…training for the youth in areas of agriculture and entrepreneurship, training and support to women in starting small businesses, family planning and empowerment and the general eradication of ignorance, illiteracy and abject poverty.”

He further called on corporate Ghana, development agencies, Government, philanthropists and well-meaning people of Yilo Klo to offer the needed support for the development of the land.
