By: Krobea Asante Tofepa – Ntomentwene

Chief of Kamanpa, Nana Kwame Wande II in the Pru district of the Brong – Ahafo region has expressed his displeasure about the numerous challenges that have engulfed his district accusing government of neglecting people of the area.

According to him, roads that link the township are poor and lack maintenance hindering services of drivers and passengers. He added that the nature of the roads is worrying as pregnant women have to be carried to the hospital for medical attention by motor and bicycles which is not advisable.

The chief also mentioned that, there are no gutters to drain water and this seriously affect them during the raining season, and that the absence of adequate midwives in the district is also hampering activities of health personnel’s in the area.

Touching on education, Nana disclosed that a 4-unit classroom block built centuries away in the town has become dilapidated, making teaching and learning very tedious as pupils have to put their books on the floor to write because there are not enough writing tables and sitting chairs.

He added that, he has seen many modern classrooms constructed in other districts, however all these projects under the NDC Better Ghana Agenda has not reached his jurisdiction and that signifies that government has no idea of the challenges of people in the area.

“Where is the Better Ghana Agenda, I am asking the President”? He questioned with no hesitation. Nana has therefore warned political figures not to invade the district to canvass for votes at the impending general elections in 2016, since any promise made to them are never fulfilled.
