Wee Woman Grabbed In K’si

A WOMAN who sent her 15-year-old son with bags laden with Indian hemp has been nabbed by the police in Kumasi.

Juliana Amoah, 32, a resident of Kotokokrom near Sunyani, reportedly sent her son (name withheld) with the wee stuffed in four bags.

The young boy was supposed to deliver the wee to a suspected narcotics dealer at Obuasi in the Ashanti Region on September 24 but was arrested by the police on the way.

The police, acting upon intelligence, intercepted the Metro Mass Transit bus on which the boy was travelling at Trede near Kumasi. Upon a thorough search, the four bags of wee were found.

ACP Ampofo Duku, the Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, briefing the media on Wednesday, said Juliana Amoah had since been apprehended.

According to him, Juliana Amoah, unemployed, is a native of Asini near Sampa in the Brong-Ahafo Region but resides at Kotokokrom with her 15-year-old son.

On September 24 Juliana Amoah loaded four bags with dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and sent him to deliver them to someone at Obuasi.

ACP Duku noted that the police stopped the Metro Mass Transit bus at Trede and retrieved the suspected illegal substances.

The police chief said the young boy immediately mentioned Juliana Amoah, his mother, as the one who sent him.

Juliana Amoah, upon learning of the arrest of her son, also proceeded to the Drug Law Enforcement Unit of the Police Service in Kumasi on September 25 to negotiate for the release of her son but was arrested.

ACP Duku noted that Juliana Amoah, upon interrogation, admitted sending her son with the suspected wee.
