We Will Hit The Streets If We Don’t Receive Water Supply – Inhabitants of Labour

By Krobea Asante Tofepa –  Ntomentwene

A 7 day ultimatum has been stretched out to Lawyer Kofi Amoatey, Member of Parliament for Yilo Krobo Constituency in the Eastern region, and the Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Honorable Andrews Soda to fix the problem of unavailability of portable drinking water or face squarely their wrath through a peaceful demonstration at Labour, a community in the constituency.

Organizer of the proposed demonstration, Mr. Emmanuel Tetteh Ofori Addo in an exclusive interview with rite news disclosed that the absence of water to serve the people is hampering their activities since women and children have to walk far distances to fetch water to cook, wash as well as run other domestic activities.

Mr. Tetteh said that the inhabitants of the community are not happy about the whole situation and are therefore calling on government and authorities to act swiftly to redress the water problem in the community.

According to him, they have registered their displeasure to the Member of Parliament and the MCE for the area but promise given them for a resolution, have yielded no result even though a lot of follow- ups have been made to the assembly.

In a cautious statement, Mr. Tetteh remarked that if the time frame scheduled elapses and nothing is done then they will have no option than to stage a demonstration against the authorities.
