We Must Stop Depleting Our Forests – Nana Bosompem

By Joyce Bedeley:

The Atwima Nwabiagya Forest Manager in the Ashanti Region, Nana Poku Bosmpem has urged Ghanaians to desist from the indiscriminate destruction of the country’s forest reserves, calling that they rather cultivate the habit of tree planting as their contribution towards the maintenance of the natural ecology.

Speaking with Rite News, Nana Poku Bosompem revealed that global warming in Ghana contributes to climatic change and our forests serve this purpose.

He further said that although there are laws in place to check these malpractices, people still flout the laws and go ahead to deplete the forests.

He urged members of the communities to be vigilant and report all who perpetuate the law in order to enable the conservation of the forests.
