We Grew Up Here

Rite 90.1 FM on Monday August 1, 2016 visited the Potters Village (Children’s home) which was established in the year 2000 at Dodowa in the Shai Osudoku District to know the condition of the children.  Speaking to some of the children who are staying there revealed the good treatment they have been receiving from the staffs and as a result of that, they feel very comfortable living there as their home.

In an interview with some of the children there, George Adu said, he came there when he was a kid and has completed his Senior High School and now a teacher there as he waits for the results. According to him, they are about 127 children staying there and 37 children have direct sponsorships from outside to support them. He revealed that, the staffs are very loyal and sincere to them.

George added that, they don’t hide anything from them in whatever they do and due to the good treatment and caring they have been receiving from the staffs, they the children feel comfortable living with them and never think of going to their various hometowns.

According to some of the kids they have come up to recognize their talents here of which they receive the maximum encouragement to grow.
