WE ARE READY FOR DISTRICT ASSEMBLY ELECTIONS – DSP DELETSA

The Somanya police commander DSP Albert Deletsa, said they are ready for today’s district level elections in the Yilo Krobo municipality as the District Commander of Police show great concern over today’s elections.

In an interview with Rite news, he said it’s their duty to maintain peace and order in every election that takes place throughout the country. He revealed that over 40,000 security personnel have been deployed nationwide to watch over the elections.

He further stated that the police and other security agencies will see to it that we observe peaceful elections in all the 43 polling stations in the Yilo Krobo municipality. According to him they will not underrate any polling station because unexpected situations could emerge anywhere, assuring that they would keep eagle eyes.

He said he was aware of the peace loving nature of Ghanaians as a whole and the people of Yilo Krobo in particular and they will not engage in any defiant act to tarnish the good name created. He said the police are ever ready to deal with anyone who has a motive of causing trouble within this election period and be have them prosecuted.

He later advised the electorate to avoid trouble in this election. He advised against the electorate hovering around polling stations after voting, adding that they should go home just after the voting and come later to witness the counting.

He added that the general public should accept the verdict of the electoral commission to enhance peace in the Somanya and the nation as a whole.
