VEEPAG to introduce Green House Farming to farmers

The president for Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association of Ghana (VEEPAG) Mr. Joseph Tonto has revealed that, VEEPAG wants to introduce Protected Agriculture Farming (Green House Farming) to farmers.He noted, the increasing effect of climate change on agriculture has enlightened vegetable farmers to consider the introduction of a ”Green House Farming”.

According to him, VEEPAG is introducing the protected agriculture farming for farmers to promote high yields in vegetable production. He said this on “Akuafo Si Sen” a segment on Rite FM’s Morning Ride.

He cited that, there are less tomatoes in the country due to the kind of system farmers use in farming but, with the “Green House Farming” farmers can increase their production  and also improve on the quality of the vegetables they produce with a long life span to be able to meet the demand on the market..

Government and the  Food and Drugs Authority have assisted VEEPAG with some facilities to establish a school for VEEPAG members and any interested person who want to study EnvironDom Protected Farming. He revealed.
