Trying Nana Akuffo Addo Is Suicidal – Tawiah Boateng

Bismark Tawaih Boateng, regional chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress in the eastern region, has cautioned Ghanaians against heeding to a call by Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo to try him by voting to elect him as President, on the impending general elections slated for November 7th.

The regional chairman was speaking at a donation exercise engineered by Shirley Naana Osei Ampem, NDC’s parliamentary candidate of Asamankese in the lower west Akim district of the eastern region last Saturday.

The event which began with a health walk and a cleanup exercise was attended by madam Georgina Opoku, popularly called “Asor” , Baba Jamal Koneh eastern regional communications director, Nana Asare Darko II Chief of Asamankese, the Municipal Chief Executive and many others.

In the Chairman’s address, he reiterated that Shirley Naana Osei Ampem, President John Dramani Mahama and the ruling National Democratic Congress was poised to bring development to the people of Asamankese and therefore called for a massive support in order to win the 2016 polls.

He rubbished a statement and a call by flag bearer of the opposition NPP, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo – Addo to be tried as President of the country, stating emphatically that governance was a serious business and serious persons ready to be responsible can only be trusted to steer affairs.

“How can we entrust the lives of over 27million people in the hands of somebody who was not prepared to change lives but only want to try it, even marriage is not to be tried”? He added.

Delivering cartons of ideal milk, milo, energy drinks, toiletries, boxes of mineral water and dozens of rubbish containers to the Asamankese hospital, Shirley Naana Osei  Ampem expressed that she was worried about the plight of sick persons, especially pregnant mothers and accident victims hence the cleanup of the children’s ward and the donation.

She therefore reached out to the various wards, prayed for speedy recovery for the in patients and pleaded with them to remember her and President John Dramani Mahama in the upcoming elections, assuring them of a better Ghana.

Naana also advised supporters of the party, especially the youth to desist from campaign of insults that had the merit of jeopardizing peace currently been enjoyed in the country. “If there is war today, we cannot run to la Cote d’ivoire because we cannot speak their language”.
