The construction of the long awaited Somanya roads is set to roll including other projects-MP

Construction is far under way to amend the tattered roads in the Krobo Township the Member of Parliament (MP) for Yilo Krobo Hon. Lawyer Kofi Amoatey has said. According to him this and other developmental facilities his constituency and the whole of kobo folks have benefited and will keep on benefiting  under the Better Ghana Agenda Policy of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He said all the roads in town are being constructed to improved vehicular movement and transportation system in the municipality.

He noted that being the MP for the constituency he has supported the municipal assembly to undertake a number of projects like building of schools, toilets and the construction of bole holes for some communities to ensure adequate supply of water.

Speaking on Rite FM’s Community Watch program, on last Saturday Hon Amoatey explained that his main focus is to the improvement of education and so his reign will see to raising the standard of education in the municipality, indicating that the results of student who sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examination in 2014 has seen better performance from 42% to 84% stating that over 90% of the students gained admission to the Senior High School.

He said this year , he is hopeful of 100% pass mark in the BECE results despite the controversy that aroused during the writing of the exams because  according to him, all the students had  been equipped  with all theneccessary logistics needed for writing the examination.

He expressed worry over the rate of teenage pregnancy in the municipality and thereby entreated all parents to train their children with the religious morals.

In other development, he revealed that his effort has led to the passing of the bill concerning the establishment of the proposed Eastern University that will have it main campus in Somanya and satellite campus in Donkor Krom.

He further mentioned that as a chairman of Parliamentary Select Committee on Constitution on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, the Electoral Commission Constitutional Instrument (CL) meant for the District Level Election has been enacted into law under his chairmanship.

Hon. Amoatey noted he will be aspiring for the upcoming parliamentary election for Yilo Krobo constituency if the party opens nominations.
