South Africans urged to participate in Agricultural bill

The Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has urged South Africans to participate in the public hearings on the Agricultural Product Standards Amendment Bill.

The department’s first public hearings on the Bill will commence in the Stellenbosch Quarantine Station-the department’s Polkadraai Avenue, Stellenbosch on 31 March at 9am.

On 8 April, the hearings, which will cover both the North West and Northern Cape provinces, will be held at the Protea Upington Hotel, in Upington.

On 13 April, the hearings will be conducted at the Durban Protea Hotel Edward, 149 Marine Parade in Durban.

In the Eastern Cape, the hearings will take place at Port Elizabeth Protea Marine Hotel on 15 April, while, the hearings in Limpopo will take place in Tzaneen Magoebaskloof Hotel on 20 April.

The last hearings for both Gauteng and the North West will take place at the department’s Imbizo Boardroom, 30 Hamilton Street, Harvest House Building, Arcadia in Pretoria.

All the public hearings will start at 9am.
