Somanya Cell Break: One Re-Arrested

One of the four escapees who were forcefully set free by rampaging irate youth in Somanya on Monday afternoon have been rearrested.  The suspects escaped after the youth who attacked the police station broke the doors leading into the cells and set them free.

ASP Isaac Otsin, Municipal Police Commander for Yilo Krobo who disclosed this in an interview with Rite news did not name the suspect but indicated that he was arrested on Monday night in a joint operation by police personnel during the wee hours of the night.

The suspect will appear before court at an unspecified date to answer charges of escaping from lawful custody.

Earlier on Monday, a massive manhunt was launched after four prisoners escaped from the station.

ASP Isaac Otsin however indicated that a search was still ongoing to apprehend the other suspects.
