Sleep Well to Reduce Stress –  Ghanaians Urged

By Nyarko Francis:

A Medical Doctor at the Hope Christian Hospital in Gomoa Fete in the Central Region, Dr. Alex Piasah Kodua has advised Ghanaians to sleep well to reduce stress on the human body.

According to him, enough sleeping was an antidote to pressure on the human body and that lack of sleep causes high blood pressure, peptic ulcer, headache and other related heart diseases which most Ghanaians suffer from.

He made this known at the Eastern Regional Churches of Christ Annual Youth Camp at Suhum last Sunday. Dr. Piasah further explained that at least human beings need between six and eight hours of sleep to refresh the mind for any other duty, stating that on a daily basis, many patients walked up to him and complained of headache, blood pressure and that after series of investigations, “I always realize that they don’t have enough sleep and therefore no amount of medicine will heal them because they are under stress,” he added.

Dr. Piasah has therefore advised the public to try as much as possible to take some days off their normal duties and visit tourist sites like the Boti Falls, Aburi Gardens and other beautiful places to relax the body, adding that they should be prayerful whenever they are in difficulties.
