Roy Hodgson, Redknapp to visit Ghana to train local coaches

Ghanaian coaches are to benefit from the expertise of top class British coaches, Roy Hodgson and Harry Redknapp in training programs to be held in the country.

This was the outcome of a meeting held between the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi, and the two coaches in London.

Hodgson is currently the manager of the England national team while Redknapp was in charge of Tottenham Hotspur last year.

The communication Director of the GFA, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, who disclosed this to the Rite Sports said ‘’ this is part of plans by the FA to help improve coaches in the country’’.

‘’Training of coaches in the country has been part of GFA’s vision and with the support of Avram Grant we hope things will go well,’’ he added.

He disclosed that the move was initiated by Mr Nyantakyi during the League Managers Association (LMA) awards night in London last Tuesday on his way to the FIFA Congress in Switzerland.

According to him, with the help of Black Stars coach, Avram Grant, some of the world class trainers agreed to help as resource persons in the trainers of some Ghanaian coaches.
