By: Catherine Ahiador

Rite FM, a radio station with the focus on agricultural and social development is set to organize a program christened (AGRI FORUM). The program which is an initiative of the project department of the station is set to come off on August 10, 2016 at the offices of the Yilo Mango Farmers Association.

The one day event which would come off between the hours of 8:30 am to 4: pm is tasked with the main objective of creating a conducive platform that will provide the grounds for relevant inputs for the development of agriculture within the Krobo communities in the areas of agribusiness, financing, investments, value addition and expansions through mechanized farming.

Another drive behind the program is to address one of the dire challenges confronting most farmers which is the lack of investment through partnership, alliance formation and network establishment.

The project team of Rite FM which is leading the event therefore deems it a privilege to organize this agricultural forum that will serve as a common platform for agri pruners, investors, experts and NGO’s including FAO, GIZ, USAID, DANIDA and SEND Ghana to help promote agriculture in the Krobo communities. It is therefore a concrete platform designed to come to the aid of farmers.

Special guest speaker at the event would be Mr. Davis Narh Korboe, chairman of the National Farmers and Fishermen Award Winners Association of Ghana, (NFFAWAG) as well as a panel discussion on agribusiness, investment, financing and insurance.

Personalities for the panel discussions include the Upper Manya Klo Rural Bank, Opportunity Savings and Loans, Yilo Star Micro Finance and Manya Krobo Rural Bank.

About 300 stakeholders from the sector including leaders of Farmer-Based Organizations, (FBOs), business minded farmers, the youth in agriculture, agricultural processors, investors, Agri-preneurs among others are expected to take part in the event.
