Residents of Serbia Appeal To Government To Sack Fulani Herdsmen

Austin Addo:

Residents of Serbia Afram Plains in the Eastern Region have appealed to the government to get rid of all the Fulani herdsmen in the area. Their call arises out of accusations that the activities of the herdsmen have caused so much destruction to the farmlands and farm produce of the indigenes.

Rite news Joshua Tetteh reports that farmers in the area are crying for urgent attention especially as their source of livelihood as well as the safety of their children. The farmers assert that their children are unable to attend school regularly for the fear of the herdsmen ambushing them in the bushes and attack them.

This has compelled them to deploy able bodied men to escort them to and from school on a daily basis. The farmers, who disclosed that the Fulani who have invaded their farms were the very ones sacked from Agogo in the Ashanti region a couple of months ago in the wake of the clashes between Fulani herdsmen and indigenes of Agogo are therefore demanding that the Fulanis should be driven away from the Afram Plains in order to ensure the security of the people and their farm produce.
