Rainfall is affecting our activities-mushroom farmers

Mushroom farmers in the country have expressed worry over the frequent rainfall for the past weeks emphasizing that, they can no more dry their mushrooms for sale and export.

According to the national President of the Mushroom Growers and Exporters Association, Rev. Theophilus Kwartey, the mushroom they produce to the market are fresh and dried to meet the preference of different customers. But most times the dry ones are easy to preserve.

Rev. Kwartey speaking to Rite news in an interview said it is going to affect their production because they cannot get more dried mushroom to supply to that section of their of their customers .

According to him, the demand for the dried ones is very high in the market these days than the fresh ones but it is unfortunate that, they cannot supply more due to the frequent rainfall currently.
