Question Chiefs For Invasion Of Fulani Herdsmen In The Afram Plains

Honorable Windham Afram, District Chief Executive and aspiring Member of Parliament for the Afram Plains north district in the Eastern region has made a categorical statement that chiefs in the district are to be held responsible for the invasion of Fulani herdsmen in the area that has brought a lot of chaos and leaving five people dead in its trail recently.

In an interview with Rite news, the DCE said that, people who own boats on the Afram Lake are also not left out since they have persistently refused an advice not to transport the Fulani across the lake so that at least peace could be restored.

“They bring the herdsmen to settle and when they begin to attack, rape, steal and kill them then they begin to apportion blame to me, forgetting that the DCE has no boat and assists no Fulani herdsman to cross the lake into their territories,” he added.

In a cautious statement, he has pleaded with chiefs and boat owners to heed to advice necessary for peace and development. He has also called on the chiefs to as a matter of urgency, address the ill activities of the herdsmen to avoid any mischief so that the community can develop since development can only be witnessed in the district when people are secured.
