Professional Farmers College (PROFACO) Has Been Shut Down

The acting president for professional farmers college (PROFACO)  located at Akyem Sekyere, in the Eastern Region, Mr. Bright Kluche has confirmed to Rite Fm News that PROFACO  has been shut down because they do not get help from anywhere especially from the government.

The Farmers college was established in order to train families on farming methods.According to Mr. Kluche, any individual who tries to join the farming profession does not get any help .

He said, at the initial stages of the college, they visited the ministries of Agric to tell them why they have that project but they did not pay any attention to them due to that, they had to seek help from some NGOs.

Mr. Bright Kluche added that, they have shut down the college because there is not enough resources to run it. He said they started this project since 2008 and had about twenty (20) different families they train on farming and how to reach international standards. Lamenting on the lack of funds, Mr Bright revealed that, at the end of the training, money to establish the farm becomes a problem so the way forward is to look for an international response in terms of capacity building
