Poultry farmers adopt measures to calm down bird flu

The chairman of Ghana national association of poultry farmers, Mr. Victor Oppong Agyei said the association has put in place measures to prevent the “bird flu” virus from attacking the various poultry farms in the country.

Speaking on Agric forum on Rite Fm over the weekend, Mr. Oppong Agyei stared that they have charged all farmers to intensify bio safety measures.

He said that, poultry farmers should keep records of death of every bird(s) and report to the right authorities in the country for examinations.

Meanwhile in a related development, the youth organizer for Ghana National Association of Farmers and Fishermen (GNAFF), Nana Oboadea Opambour said, he totally disagree with Mr. Oppong in terms of the virus.

Nana Opambour said, viruses are very serious and can be spread at any time and therefore should not wait before necessary reactions are taken and also condemns the Ministry of Health for not making concrete research about the virus.
