PARENTS URGED TO INVEST IN THEIR CHILDREN’S EDUCATION

The Director of Visions Academy in Somanya in the Yilo Krobo Municipality Mr. Ebenezer Appiah has advised parents to take their children’s education as their number one priority.

That, he said will produce quality graduates to steer the affairs of this country in future.

Addressing a durbar at a ceremony to climax the 12th edition of the school’s speech and Prize Giving Day held last Saturday, Mr. Appiah explained that quality education does not depend solely on the teachers output but also the support parents will give to their children in terms of payment of school fees, buying of books and other materials needed for to enhance teaching and learning.

He noted that the only challenge confronting the school is infrastructure to house the increasing children but the school’s management he said is working hard to construct more buildings to increase the intake of fresh students, adding that the school will soon be admitting students to the boarding house beginning from September.

He has therefore advised other private schools to raise the standard of teaching and learning and not focusing only on the business aspect.

The Chairman for the program, Mr. Frank Anor who is also teacher at Yilo Krobo Senior High School advised the students to learn hard because they are competing with other high schools in the big cities in writing the same examination.
