The Osudoku Senior High school remains the only second cycle school in Asutsuare, a situation the Managing Director of Golden Exotics Limited says gives reason for the adoption of the school into its corporate social responsibility.

These responsibilities, Mr. Olivier Chassang noted, includes the promotion of quality education and improving the livelihoods of people within their operation areas.

The establishment of the library is expected to improve studies in the school and produce quality scientists for the country.

Chairman for the Fairtrade Premium Committee

Mr. Isaac Tekpernor, Chairman for the Fairtrade Premium Committee on his part said the call for the establishment of a science laboratory for the Osudoku Senior High school as one of its major needs was made by the former headmistress of the school, Madam Baaba Yankey during a needs assessment of the district.

He recalled that during the exercise, the school authorities as part of plans towards running a pure science course in the school, requested the building of a science laboratory, a request which ultimately informed the construction of the project.

Mr. Tekpernor disclosed that Fairtrade premium committee, will continue to support the district to promote development though even as other projects are due for completion and subsequent handing over.

District Chief Executive

For District Chief Executive for the Shai Osudoku district, Honorable Daniel Akuffo, there’s is the urgent and longstanding need for the building of school facilities for schools in the district, a responsibility the assembly couldn’t fulfil due to the unavailability of resources.

He admitted that though the provision of such infrastructure remains the responsibility of the government, it is unable to provide for all of its citizenry and hence the need for corporate Ghana to intervene just Like Golden Exotics Limited has done.

He expressed his profound gratitude to Golden Exotics Limited for their diverse support to the district including the construction of water facilities, school blocks, construction and maintenance of roads, housing for workers, construction of community vocational schools, renovation of the Osudoku Traditional Council and other developmental projects in the district.

While encouraging other businesses to follow the examples of Golden Exotics in the development of the Shai Osudoku district, Honorable Daniel Akuffo pledged the commitment of the assembly to support the school to position it favorably to compete with other schools in the country.

The British High Commissioner who delivered his speech through a representative disclosed that Ghana remains one of the top trading partners of the United Kingdom in Sub-Sahara Africa with its bilateral trade relationship reaching 1.4 billion pounds in 2016.

Adding that trade has to provide jobs, economic opportunities and transform lives.

He advised the management of the school to ensure the proper use of the facility.

Paramount Chief of Osudoku Traditional Area

Paramount Chief of the Osudoku Traditional Area also congratulated Golden Exotics for their diverse support for the area.

Nene Kwesi Animle VI took the opportunity to invite well-meaning investors to the area to equally add their quota to the development of the district.

He discounted the perception that the area is only conducive for farming activities, arguing that Shai Osudoku needs other developmental projects such as Estate housing.

He called on the British High commissioner to Ghana to take a tour of the district especially as the land is endowed with tourist sites. This he hoped could go a long way in strengthening ties between the Shai Osudoku district and The United Kingdom.
