OBAWALENYA BELONGS TO YILO KROBO-HIGH COURT

Citizens of Obawalenya have been spared the trauma of homelessness; thanks to an interview granted Rite FM on Tuesday by the District Chief Executive Officer for Akuapem North, Hon George Opare Addo. A Koforidua High Court had ordered for the demolition of unauthorized homes, properties and structures in Obawalenya on a land belonging to one Agor Family of Yilo Krobo and for Akuapem.

However, a timely interview granted by the DCE has temporarily halted the exercise.

Speaking to Rite FM news, the head of the Agor family and also the chief of Okper Wekperti, Nene Agor Awaitey said the land of controversy belongs to their great grandfather and was given to one Togbui Logbu and his family to be settlers on the land and it therefore does not belong to Apirede as they are claiming.

He said the family was in possession of valid documents testifying that the land belongs to the Agor Family. Therefore, based upon the concrete evidence that they have the high court ruled that the 1000 acres fall within to Yilo krobo and not Apirede.

Nene Agor further stated that the chiefs of Yilo Krobo should be vigilant and rise up to fight any encroachers on their land because they were put there to serve the people and further warned some people who are selling land that does not belongs to them to desist from their unauthorized actions.
