NPP’s Hajia Fati arrested for attacking Afokos

Hajia Fati, a New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart was arrested last Thursday by the ministries Police for allegedly leading attacks on family members of Paul Afoko, the party’s National Chairman.

This followed a complaint made by some members of the Afoko family who were attacked at the Cocoa Affairs court after Gregory Afoko’s bail application was denied.

Paul Afoko’s brother, Gregory has been charged with conspiracy and murder of NPP’s Upper East Chairman, Adam Mahama, who was killed after an acid attack.

Aggrieved family members of the late Adam Mahama on Tuesday stormed the court in Accra and allegedly attacked relatives of Afoko where Hajia Fati was spotted.

Though Hajia Fati has since been granted bail, she told Citi News she never attacked anyone.

“They arrested me to the ministries Police station that I have beaten his children so they should arrest me. One Cynthia Afoko and another lady reported that I have beaten them at the court. So they took me to the ministries Police station, they took my statement and then they said someone should bail me. And when that was done, they said I should report on Tuesday again.”

“My charge was that I have beaten one Cynthia Afoko and another lady, I don’t know her name. Even that day, when I went to the court, I didn’t even get close to them,” she claimed.

In a related development, aggrieved family members of the late Adam Mahama have threatened to deal ‘ruthlessly’ with the National Chairman of the Party, Paul Afoko.

“What did Adam do to you? We will lock Afoko up. It is him we want. Gregory is an ex-convict, but it is Afoko we want. They have to pour the acid on all of us too. They should get ready for war. How can they reap what they have not sown,” one of Adam Mahama’s relative screamed.
