His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo has revitalize government commitment towards implementation of the much talked about Free Senior High School program.
The president has begun his five working days visit to both the Western and the Central regions; Monday 7th, August 2017. In an interaction with the chiefs and people of Sefwi and Bibiani on Monday, the president has stated free SHS will start come September this year.
In president Nana Addo’s opinion, “the policy will send many Junior High School graduate from the street to SHS classrooms.”
The Free SHS Policy implementation document intercepted by ritefmonline.org has it that, one hundred and seven thousand six hundred and fourty-one pupils on average between 2013 and 2016 even though got placement, could not enrolled into the SHS.
The free SHS has become the talking point among Ghanaians especially the political parties during the 2016 electioneering campaign. However, president Nana Addo had told the gathering aside all forms of chastises he suffered during his bids to be president, he (president) and his education minister have worked everything out to effect implementation come 2017/2018 academic year.
The president further stated that, he will soon meet with the Council of State on the creation of six new regions.
