NFFAWG Expresses view on forthcoming Farmers Day

A prominent member of the National Association of Farmers and Fishermen Award Winners of Ghana (NFFAWAG), Mr. Appiah has in an exclusive interview on Akuafo Se Sen, an exclusive agricultural segment on the Rite Morning Ride, expressed the view of the association on the forthcoming National Farmers Day celebrations to be held at Bolgatanga in the Upper West region on Friday, the 4th of December 2015.

Mr. Appiah who doubles as the coordinator of the National Farmers Day Committee said (NAFFAGW) as part of its responsibilities has prioritized the mobilizing of past award winners to form an association to either help agricultural projects in the country or speak to the Government on behalf of the farmers . He said the Award winners Association has been part of the Farmers Day Organization for long in the sense that anytime the ministry is celebrating Farmers Day, the Award Winners Association is called to share its opinion.

Touching on the farmers Day, he said the Ministry of Food and Agriculture had received noble donations to be awarded deserving farmers from notable organizations, institutions and Banks. He however said the farmers have a platform called Farmers’ Forums where farmers are taught on how to improve upon farming in the country.

Mr. Appiah added that the Upper West regional minister was yet to welcome the farmers in the District at his residence. He said all the farmers were presently at Bolgatanga where the event would he held at the Bolgatanga Senior High School.

He also said this year’s celebration was going to change since the prizes to give to the appropriate winners are in Accra.
