NFFAWAG appoints new members into office

The chairman of the council of elders of the National Farmers and Fishermen Award Winners Association of Ghana (NFFAWAG), Mr. Alokodongo yesterday exercised the constitutional mandate and appointed a New Interim Management Committee (IMC) members to steer the affairs of the association.

Mr. Alokodongo stated that, the IMC has been given two (2) years’ time frame to put things in the right perspective and organize a general election.

The Interim Management Committee consits of Mr. Davis Narh Koboe, 2009 National Best Farmer as President, and his vice Mr. Ignatius Agbo 2011 National Best Farmer, Alhaji Musah Ali is the secretary, Mrs. Eva Atsitsogbe and Mr. A.B Appiah as Administrator.

He affirmed that, “this IMC is going to be tasked and expected to put all matters pertaining to the National Farmers and Fishermen on track, on that note, I therefore wish to use this opportunity to formally inaugurate the IMC members into office”.

Meanwhile the Administrator of IMC, M.A.B Appiah speaking to Rite FM  noted that the former executives led by Mr. Philip Abayori were not able to achieve their goals and perform well due to the autocratic life style of the then President.

He sees the President to be Autocratic because he decides things on his own without considering affairs or consulting the members of the association.

According to Mr. Appiah, this association was formed to encourage the youth to go into farming and also lobby for farming inputs since 2009 but it is unfortunate that, the then president did not make sure that, all these are on track.
