NFFAWAG and EDAIF to support farmers

The chairman of national farmers and fishermen award winners association of Ghana (NFFAWAG), Mr. Davis Narh Korboe has said the association is working hand in hand with EDAIF to offer capacity building for farmers.

According to him, agriculture has now become market demand and it needs training for farmers to improve their quality of produce.

Speaking on Rite FM’s Agric Forum on Saturday, the 2009 National best farmer stated that, recently Ghana was nearly banned from exporting vegetables into the European market apart from mango and pineapple hence the need to organize capacity building across the country to improve the produce to meet the foreign market standard and demand.

Mr. Davis Korboe mentioned that his outfit is in the process of helping agriculture students in a form of supporting them with the fund to start something on their own in order to reduce the issues of unemployment in the country.

He mentioned, the association has reconsider its decision to collaborate with Food and Agriculture Show (FAGRO) to create ready market for agriculture product, adding that, they have come up with a five (5) year developmental plan to assist FAGRO to work efficiently.

He said there is going to be the first National Agriculture Summit on the 8th of July, 2015 which has been lunched already on the theme “further unlocking the Ghanaian agricultural sector, the role of women” which was organizes by FAGRO and NFFAWAG.
