NDC doesn’t wait for elections to start dev’t projects – Omane Boamah

The Minister of Communications, Dr Edward Omane Boamah says the ruling National Democratic Congress does not rely on political expediency in the deployment of developmental projects to various parts of the country.

According to Dr Edward Omane Boamah, as a communist party, one of the ideals of the NDC is to distribute evenly, the national cake across the country; safeguarding the share of the remotest community.

He said, in doing so, the party is not motivated by the next elections, but rather focused on transforming Ghana and improving the lives of the people.

“The government of the NDC led by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama doesn’t wait for elections before he deploys development projects and activities to the constituencies and districts in the country.

“That is not the nature of the National Democratic Congress,” he said.

This, according to him, is the reason the Communications Ministry decided to postpone the inauguration of the Enhanced Community Information Centre in Talensi to prevent people from expressing disdain for the exercise.

“We didn’t inaugurate the one in Talensi ahead of the by-election because we didn’t want anybody to say that it is because of the election that is why we were inaugurating it. In the coming weeks, we shall inaugurate the centre constructed in Talensi.”

He was speaking during the commissioning of one of the Community Information Centres to the residents of Keta in the Volta region.

He said all the 21 Enhanced Community Information Centers allocated to various parts of the country to stimulate electronic transactions and socio-economic development had all been completed.
