Mozambique: 2015 Forum Agri-Business

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the EMRC have organized the 2015 Agri-Business Forum on the theme of “Inclusive Growth: A vision for agricultural transformation in Africa,” which will be held in Kinshasa, DRC between March 22-25, 2015.

The Agri-Business Forum is the largest in Africa in the agro-food sector and this year will be jointly organized by the government of the DRC and the EMRC in partnership with the UNDP, the FAO and the Fund for the Promotion of Industry (FDI), and with support of Trust Merchant Bank (TMB), Rabobank Foundation, AGCO, the Belgian Development Agency (BTC) and other local and international organizations.

With the participation of about 450 delegates from Africa, Europe, Asia and the US, the forum aims to support the agro-food sector in Africa by encouraging partnerships, knowledge-sharing and investment attraction.

It is the ideal place to present and discuss opportunities for trade and inclusive agriculture, gender issues and research and development in agriculture. Renowned agricultural experts, governments, multinationals, SMEs, farmers’ associations, the private sector, donors, civil society, investors and financing organizations will be present. To encourage partnerships, the forum will provide pre-scheduled business meetings (B2B).

To promote the role of SMEs, the EMRC’s Rabobank Project Incubator Award will award the project winner with $15,000 to promote the support and sustainability of communities and to present a solid business model for agriculture in Africa, rural development and related sectors.

Previous editions of this forum achieved notable results in highlighting current issues, projects and innovative solutions related to the agro-food sector in Africa, as well as creating business links and solid partnerships.
