Miss Hilda Huadji, an extension agent at Lower Manya has said on Tuesday’s“Feed the future platform” that contrary to popular perception, a lot of women are involved in the value chain of food production in the district.

She said women can be found in all aspects of the value chain such as the production, processing, marketing and distribution stages of the value chain as well as in the sale of agro chemicals.

She said a lot of education has been targeted at women in the rural areas for them to appreciate the benefits of agriculture in their own backyard and stay in the rural areas instead of seeking greener pastures from the cities. She said women in Agriculture also known as WIAG is also educating women on the preparation of balance diet right from their farm produce. This according to her is to help avoid the problem of malnutrition usually encountered.
