MOFA charged to investigate cause of bird flu virus

The former chairman of Ghana National Association of Poultry Farmers (GNAPE) Mr. Kwadwo Asante has charged  the ministry of Food and Agriculture in charge of live stocks to organize an intensive investigation into the recent outbreak of the Avian influenza also known as “bird flu” virus during broiler production.

According to him, bird flu keeps affecting Ghana in the period of broiler production.

Speaking to rite news in an interview, Mr. Asante explained that, bird flu has become an obstacle for African countries in terms of livestock and there has not been any concrete investigation to curb this canker.

He further stated that, the observation of the association indicates that, importation of second hand goods in the country is one of the problem causing bird flu virus, stressing that, countries like America and other European countries have restricted the importation of goods to check virus and diseases.

He therefore charged authorities to wake up and come out with a solution to eliminate this bird flu from Ghana.
