Medeama to face Kotoko in 2015 MTN FA Cup grand final

Medeama will face Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the final of this year’s MTN FA Cup after beating Hearts of Oak 2-1 at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.
Kwesi Donsu gave Medeama the lead six minutes after kick off when he lobbed from some metres beyond the centre line to beat Seidu Mutawakilu in post for Hearts.

And Donsu doubled Medeama’s lead 10 minutes later with a long range shot as the Mauvres took their comfortable 2-0 lead into the first half break.

Medeama began the second half with the same confidence they exhibited in the first half as they continued to dominate the game.

Hearts of Oak however found their rhythm after Herbert Addo introduced striker Foovi Aguidi into the game.

And the Phobians managed to pull one back after skipper Robin Gnagne converted a spot kick in the 55th minute.

Medeama beat Hearts of Oak by a similar scoreline in 2013 where they went on to beat Kotoko in the final match.

And the two sides will face each other again on August 30 to determine who will left the prestigious MTN FA Cup trophy this year.

Defending Champions Kotoko made it to the final of this year’s competition after beating Aduana 3-1 at the Sunyani Stadium on Friday.
