MCE cuts sod for multi-purpose library, toilet facilities for Lower Manya Krobo

Municipal Chief Executive for Lower Manya Krobo, Honourable Simon Kweku Tettey on Wednesday cut sod cut for the construction of a multi-purpose library and modern toilet facilities for students and residents of Kpong Zongo respectively in the Eastern region.

The Hon MCE cut the sod for works to begin on modern library project on the Manya Krobo Senior High School Campus to serve as the pivot of academic work as a result of the inadequate infrastructure and other development challenges facing the school.

The project marked the beginning of the provision of more facilities to better the lot of the academic institution.

Honourable Simon Kweku Tetteh who said the exercises formed part of President Akuffo Addo’s transformation agenda in Lower Manya was convinced that the facility will go a long way in serving students of the Manya Krobo Senior High School and various surrounding communities.

The building of the library facility being financed by Non-Governmental Organization, 9BS as part of its corporate social responsibilities is expected to serve as the information nerve centre for MAKROSEC and beyond.

The assembly chief who said he was instrumental in lobbying for the library facility from 9BS said the facility will serve the literary needs of school and surrounding communities.

Board member of 9BS, Nana Fianko in an interview with Rite news expressed the preparedness of the company to support deprived communities.

The board member while maintaining the company’s position to give back to society what it has gained from it said it will not only always depend on government but strive to extend its benevolence to society.

The company, Nana Fianko observed is committed to identifying needy entities in society to offer its widow’s mite to them.

He therefore urged corporate organizations to live up to their social responsibilities and support the government by involving themselves in the development agenda.

Headmistress of the Manya Krobo Senior High School, Madam Agnes Tanor narh said she was hopeful that the building of the facility will greatly improve upon academic performance in the school.

Madam Agnes Narch who expressed hope in the early completion of the project extended her appreciation to 9BS and President Akuffo Addo for the gesture, adding that the facility will greatly impact teaching and learning positively.

She was positive that students of the school will greatly utilize the facility when completed to compliment teaching and learning activities in the school.

Cutting sod for the commencement of construction works on a 16-seater-water closet toilet facility for the people of Kpong Zongo, the MCE said that the project is in fulfillment of the government’s promise to support development projects.

According to the MCE, the project for the beneficiary communities would be completed in a couple of months, adding that the contractor would start work as soon as possible.

The Assembly Chief while hoping that the project would end open defecation plaguing the municipality said it will go a long way in improving sanitary conditions in the municipality.
