Managing Post-Harvest Losses Can Help Achieve Food Security- Prez

cers, King Amoah David has said that, managing post-harvest losses can lead the country to achieve its food security.

He noted that, one of the major challenge that is hindering the growth of agriculture and reducing supply in the country is post-harvest loses.

According to him, farmers are producing much on their farms to feed the nation, but it is unfortunate that, most of their produce are left on the farm to rot as a result of post-harvest loses.

King Amoah speaking to Rite News in an interview said, Ghana as a country needs to manage post-harvest loses to the minimum of 1% to 2% in other to achieve food security.

According to him, there are a lot of challenges facing farmers in the country which needs to be addressed for agriculture to maintain its growth.

These challenges he said, is the availability of farming inputs, fertilizer accessibility, tractor services and access to ware houses adding that, these issues need to be handled by government else it will lead to food insecurity.
