The Odikro of Senchi in the Asuogyaman in the Eastern Region has been brutalized by landgurds on Thursday dawn over chieftaincy disputes.
Nana Yaw Minta who is the Odikro of Senchi confirmed to Rite FM news that some factions of Abiriw in the Akuapem municipality wanted to enstool a chief at Senchi without going through the formal process of enstoolment.
He told Rite FM that, during their attempt to still enstool the chief, arguments ensued between the Senchi Royals and those from Abiriw which later led to the brutalization of the Odikro.
Nana Yaw Minta said about 40 landgurds tied him with a rope and beat him severely after which they drag him to the bush.He noted that the land guards tortured him with knife and other weapons living several marks of wounds on his body.
“They also striped me naked”, the chief bemoaned.
Nana Yaw is therefore processing a court suit to be served on the faction that came from abiriw.He added that he would continue to pursue and drag the case in court until he is satisfied.
