kwahu assembly man angry at fulani herdsmen
The assembly of Nketepa Electoral Area in Kwahu of the Eastern Region Hon. Asante Nkrumah has expressed anger at the activities of the Fulani herdsmen in the region, expressing his desire to drive them out of kwahu land.
Hon. Asante speaking to Rite FM News in an in interview said, the chief of the land Nana Abrefa Dankwah has not given any land to Fulani herdsmen to settle on and the kwahu traditional council has decided to ask the Fulani’s to vacate their lands before the end of this January.
He noted that, the Fulani often carry offensive weapons to market places and drinking bars where they terrorize indigenes.
Hon. Asante disclosed that the Fulani’s have over the years killed over 18 indigenes of kwahu and attacked several others and stolen from their victims at gun point.
He cited Fulani’s have raped women, destroyed farm and crops with their cattle.
“I have arranged several press conferences to address the issue of these Fulani herdsmen and also to create awareness about what they are doing but no action has been taken” said Hon. Asante
