Krobo MPs will fight for the Eastern University and other projects-Okletey Tei Larbi

The Member of Parliament for the lower Manya constituency Hon. Okletey Tei Larbi has said Krobo MPs are doing their best in parliament to push for developmental projects for the people of Krobo.

Some of this project is their long awaited promise of President John Dramani Mahama to establish a public university on the Krobo land which is recently making headway on the floor of parliament.

The proposed Eastern University which is now known as the University for Sustainable Environmental Studies and applied Science has recently seen its second reading on the floor of parliament by the AMOAKO NUAMAH lead technical committee awaiting its 3rd and final hearing for approval.

Commenting on the controversy on the siting of the University as the Minority is suggesting the University should be established in the regional capital, Koforidua or Bonsu.

Hon. Okletey said that those suggestions by the minority truly portray the minority’s dislike of Krobo’s and the fact that they don’t deserve the University.

Meanwhile the two suggested towns don’t have enough lands for future expansion of the university adding Somanya is the best place to build the University. ‘’Siting the university in Somanya is a done deal!’’ He reiterated.

He noted a legal committee preparing the laws that will guide the university is also being led by the MP for Lower Manya Constituency Hon. Kofi Amoatey so, there is no way this opportunity will slip off the heads of Krobo, he insisted.

He called on the youth of Krobo to believe in the MPs to as capable of fighting for their welfare in parliament and boycott rumors that they are acting as deaf in parliament.

In other development, the deputy minority leader in parliament Hon. Dominic Nitiwul speaking on Rite FM has defended minority doing tribal politics with the Eastern university project explaining they are only excising their democratic powers.

But Hon. Okletey Tei Larbi still insist the minority is pushing for the university in Koforidua citing MP for New Juabeng South, Hon. Asibey Yeboah and Papa  Owusu Ankomah to be behind the -kick -against.
