Kotoko coach Duncan ‘will not resign’

David Duncan insists he will not resign following his side Asante Kotoko’s 2-0 defeat to Berekum Chelsea on matchday four in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Kotoko have now gone four games without a win this season, their worst start of any campaign in the last decade.

Despite criticisms from all corners, the former Hearts of Oak and Ashanti Gold manager has no plans to quit, insisting he hasn’t done such a thing before.

“I have never resigned from any job before [and won’t resign],” Duncan was quoted as saying by FootyGhana.

“Unless you’re telling me that this is Kotoko’s worst start to any premier league season, this should not be a situation the club hasn’t been in before. We will have to all work together to try and turn things around,” he added.

Kotoko lost 2-0 on opening day to Wafa before sharing the spoils 0-0 and 2-2 with Ashantigold and Medeama SC respectively in match day two and three.

The defeat in Berekum has left the Kumasi-based club with two points and currently in the red zone on 14th position.

They will play Hasaacas on Friday and Goal understands that a defeat will leave Duncan being shown the exit door.
