Journalists Stand Up For Agric

By Austin Ofori Addo:

Some journalists have come together with the aim to push through their agenda of seeing agric live up to its place as the backbone of the economy. This is because in spite of this assertion, very little seems to be put into the sector to enable agriculture live up to that accolade.

According to the group, the wrong notion that farming is a business done only with hoes and cutlasses must be disregarded because agriculture has now evolved from the business that only involved hoes and cutlasses to a more modernized activity. This according to them has made agriculture as a more attractive venture.

The journalists allude that their group was not founded by anyone but rather gets support from USAID (feed the future) which takes them through some training in order to be given the requisite knowledge on what they write that will stand to benefit the several challenges facing the agric sector.

They pointed out that the group will be inaugurated on Wednesday the 1st of October 2016 in Kumasi where Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr. John Alexander Ackon, Prof Amin Alhassan from the University of Development Studies, UDS, among other prominent personalities will be present.
