Involve stakeholders in free SHS implementation – Christian Council

The Christian Council of Ghana has urged the government to involve all the stake holders necessary to enhance successful free Senior High School policy.

According to Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni Frimpong, the free SHS is a very laudable policy but the government must involve the key stakeholders which include the teachers, headmasters, parents teachers associations (PTA) and institutions that will be working directly with the policy for better understanding.

He questioned what happens to already existing education reinforcing packages like PTA levies, teachers’ motivation levy and extra classes now that free SHS comes to being. “Better explanation is needed to address these issues,” Rev. Opuni said.

He said the PTA and old student associations have been doing well as long as the school development is concerned so what happens after the new policy?
