I can retain Ablekuma seat for NDC – Accra Mayor

The Metropolitan Chief Executive of Accra, Alfred Oko Vanderpuije says he is the best candidate to retain the Ablekuma South Constituency seat for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Oko Vanderpuijie, who is a native of the area believes he understands the needs of the people and can provide the requisite resources needed to improve their livelihood when he is elected as the MP of the area.

Speaking to Citi News after picking up nomination forms to contest in the Ablekuma South NDC primaries, Alfred Vanderpuyie said his track record as AMA boss will help him win the primaries.

“I have decided to contest because I am from Ablekuma South.I worked in Ablekuma South. I have the support of  the people of Ablekuma South. They believe in me that I will be able represent them very well in Parliament.”

“People in Ablekuma know me for development. They know they can depend on me. With me, they have a leader they can depend on.”

Meanwhile, some residents of Ablekuma South have expressed their delight at Alfred Vanderpuije’s decision to contest in the primaries.

“He can do better so I will vote for him,” a resident in the area stated.

Another said :” I think he is good. He can win the elections easily.”

Oko Vanderpuijie has been Mayor of Accra since 2009.
