Heavy rain storm pull down 3 hectares plantain farm, owner runs into maize cultivation

A plantain farmer at Ogormey in the Yilo Krobo Municipality of the Eastern Region, Mr. Tetteh Wisdom has said the recent rain accompanied with heavy winds has collapsed his plantain farm.

He said the recent down pour pulled down his plantain trees which were about to bear fruit in some few weeks leaving him with nothing to count on.

“The plantain farming is what I do for a living and now the rain has destroyed it, am left with nothing,” he has lamented.

According to the farmer, he has about three hectares of plantain farm which bear fruit every year before the recent incident.

He has therefore decided to change from the plantain farming into maize production to take advantage of the minor season.
