Hearts of Oak cruise to MTN FA Cup semis without conceding a goal

Hearts of Oak have booked their place in the semifinal stage of the 2015 MTN FA Cup Competition after beating Tamale Utrecht 3-0 at the Tema Stadium on Sunday.

The Phobians who are yet to concede a goal in this year’s competition, got all three goals in the first half after Emmanuel Hayford scored the opener in the 11th minute.

Striker Eric Kumi and Gerald Odupong Wellington then scored the second and third goals of the day respectively to end Utrecht’s dream of making it to the final stage.

Coach Herbert Addo’s side who are the only team yet to concedea goal got to this stage of the competition after eliminating Elimina Sharks (1-0), Bolga Man City (3-0) and Afienya City (1-0) in the Round of 64, 32 and 16 respectively.

The winner of Wednesday’s outstanding round of 16 match between Great Astronomers and Medeama will play against WAFA in their quarter-finals with the winner of that tie taking on Hearts of Oak in the semifinal stage next month.

Other outstanding matches whixh will be cleared on Wednesday June 3 will see Asante Kotoko take on RTU at the Baba Yara Stadium while Ashantigold host Inter Allies at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

Winners of those matches will then advance to the quarterfinals stage.
